On March 27, 2025, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) officially issued Decision No. 111/QD-HV to introduce the full-time undergraduate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (under the major of Business Administration). Under this new initiative, the Institute will enroll its inaugural cohort of 100 students in 2025. The admission subject combinations include: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (Group A-A00); Mathematics, Physics, English (Group A1-A01); and Mathematics, Literature, English (Group D1).
The Logistics Sector and Human Resource Demands by 2030
According to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), Vietnam currently accounts for approximately 30,000 active enterprises in the logistics sector, including roughly 4,000 companies operating in domestic and international cargo transportation. The domestic logistics landscape is predominantly comprised of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with Vietnamese enterprises accounting for 89%, joint ventures making up 10%, and 100% foreign-owned enterprises representing the remaining 1%.
Projections indicate that by 2030, the nation’s logistics sector will require an additional 2.2 million personnel. This workforce demand includes approximately 200,000 high-quality professionals equipped with specialized degrees, certifications, vocational expertise, and professional foreign language competencies. Meanwhile, since higher education institutions offering specialized training in this discipline remain limited in Vietnam, the existing supply only satisfies around 40% of market demand, positioning Logistics as one of the most high-demand talent sectors today.

Beyond specialized third-party logistics (3PL) providers, transport companies, and freight forwarders, young professionals can easily secure placements in internal functional departments including strategic planning, customer service, international business, warehousing, and procurement operations.
The PTIT Differentiation: Tech-Driven Logistics Training
Leveraging its established prestige as a premier technology-focused university, PTIT differentiates its Logistics and Supply Chain Management curriculum by seamlessly integrating information technology and emerging digital tools into the instructional content. PTIT strongly emphasizes the strategic application of IT in supply chain workflow management. Students will master modern logistics management software applications to optimize business processes and elevate operational efficiency.
Furthermore, disruptive technological trends—including Big Data analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI)—are directly embedded into the course content, enabling students to command the advanced innovations reshaping the modern logistics industry. This technical edge represents a unique advantage that few traditional universities can replicate.
The PTIT faculty members hold advanced academic credentials combined with extensive pedagogical experience in postal services, warehousing, and practical industry workflows. This provides a golden opportunity for students to acquire cutting-edge domain expertise and field-tested competencies.

According to Dr. Tran Thị Hoa, Head of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Business Administration 1:
“Although our specialized logistics concentration was established in 2020 and the official Logistics and Supply Chain Management major launches enrollment in 2025, PTIT possesses nearly 20 years of robust academic foundation in this field. We have consistently supplied logistics personnel to major postal giants such as VNPost and Viettel Post. With the official rollout of the program this year, we expect our students to cultivate market-driven mentalities, tightly aligning with realistic industry operations and emerging trends from the outset to satisfy the escalating expectations of prospective employers.”
As one of the five National Key Universities in engineering and technology, PTIT is strategically oriented toward launching innovative majors to satisfy the demand for high-quality digital human resources. The introduction of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management major is poised to contribute significantly to the national digital economy by streamlining logistics frameworks, elevating human capital, and fostering systemic innovation.
